Some portraits seem like an uphill struggle. I’ve been working on this one for a few days; using Nitram Charcoal, charcoal pencils and pastels. It’s a slow process but I’m getting there… Wish me luck

Self Portrait in charcoal (2019)
Self Portrait in charcoal (2019) I worked on this piece over the Christmas break. It’s a small study, closely examining the often overlooked lumps and bumps lingering under an otherwise familiar face. The sitter has his eyes closed, allowing the viewer to observe closely and at peace without being confronted by a direct gaze.

Tobacco Dock, London I was invited by Microsoft to demonstrate the Surface line-up at the Festival of Marketing at London’s Tobacco Dock. Working on the new Surface Pro and the magnificently grand Surface Studio, I created portraits of the guests to give away.

Oxford Street, London I was invited to the UK launch of the new Surface line-up; Surface Pro, Surface Laptop and Surface Studio. Taking place on the roof garden of John Lewis on Oxford Street, I had a chance to demonstrate the new hardware to the press and public.
