My digital painting, Red Beard (a study of flesh under mixed lighting), was painted on iPad using Procreate when it had just recently been released. It was an experiment with the app’s “Old brush”, which gave a nice loose “painterly” feel that I’d been trying to capture within the digital medium.
In 2012, Red Beard was chosen to exhibit with the Lumen Prize and was placed on display (iPad framed to a wall) at Gallery 27 on London’s notorious art-hub, Cork Street. From there it traveled to exhibit in Europe and Asia.
In 2013 it was exhibited as a triptych of my portraits on a screen in London’s Saatchi Gallery.
Red Beard is now available to purchase as a 1/1 on Opensea from my online collection
