Self Portrait in charcoal (2019)
I worked on this piece over the Christmas break. It’s a small study, closely examining the often overlooked lumps and bumps lingering under an otherwise familiar face. The sitter has his eyes closed, allowing the viewer to observe closely and at peace without being confronted by a direct gaze.
